PhD (II Sem) Admissions 2011-2012
Applications have been invited by Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani for admission to PhD Programme at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses in the following disciplines:
Biological Sciences, Chemical Engg., Chemistry, Civil Engg. Computer Science, Economics and Finance, Electrical & Electronics Engg., Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engg., Pharmacy, Physics, Languages and Humanities and Interdisciplinary areas such as Biotechnology, Energy, Environment, Robotics; Nano-science & Nanotechnology, Water Management, Public Health etc.
Input Qualification:
ME / MPharm / MBA / MPhil of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate. Candidates with an MSc / BE / BPharm or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate will also be considered for PhD admission. For PhD Programme in Languages and Humanities, candidates with an MA and with minimum of 55% aggregate may also be considered. Industries and R&D organizations collaborating with BITS may sponsor candidates to work for PhD under 'Aspirants scheme'.
Assistantship / Scholarship:
Applicants for admission to the PhD programme will also be considered for Project / Research Assistantships to the tune of Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 14000/- pm or more in addition to tuition fee waiver scheme. Such selected candidates will be required to participate in teaching and other developmental programme of the institute under the guidance of a mentor.
Application Procedure:
Interested and eligible candidates should apply through the prescribed application form available online at www.bitsadmission.com and take the printout of the filled form. The completed application forms along with the prescribed fee of Rs. 1500/- should be sent to Admissions Officer, BITS, Pilani - 333031.
The fee payment can be made in one of the following modes:
1. Payment by Credit Cards (All credit cards issued by Master and Visa) or Payment by debit Cards (Debit cards issued by VISA of select banks, namely (Andhra Bank, Axis Bank, Barclays Bank, Canara Bank, City Union Bank, Corporation Bank, Deutsche Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IOB Bank, Kotak bank, Standard Chartered, SBI, Syndicate bank, Federal Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, GE Money financial services.)
2. Payment through Demand Draft: Attach a Demand draft for Rs. 1500/-. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of ‘Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani' payable at (i) State Bank of India, Pilani (Branch Code: 11309) Or (ii) UCO Bank, Vidya Vihar, Pilani (Branch Code: 0150) Or (iii) ICICI Bank, Pilani (Branch Code: 1538) .
Deadline for submission of the completed application form is 5.00 pm on 5th December 2011.
